Welcome to the Most Powerful Women in Banking Conference. I'm Chana Schoenberger. I'm the Editor-in-Chief of American Banker, and thanks for being here with us today. We have an amazing crowd here for the second year of this event, and I recognize some familiar faces. I think some of you were here last year, which is great to see. It has been a challenging year for women in banking and for bankers in general. The 2023 banking crisis inflation, economic difficulties, rising interest rates, troubles with real estate loans, cracks in consumers, credit card usage and borrowing. These are all serious threats, but if you read the profiles we published of the most powerful women, and they are all in those magazines at your tables, it's clear that these honorees are not hiding from the challenges. By contrast, they are out front and leading. They're rallying their organizations and their colleagues to come up with new ideas.

They're making sure their customers get the best possible service. They're taking care of their communities, and you're going to hear from them about how they do it and what comes next. What we have scheduled for the next two days is an event that tries to distill the wisdom of the most powerful women in banking and finance, and some other top business leaders from other industries. I'm really excited about the lineup we have, and the most exciting part is the opportunity to meet other dynamic women leaders in the room. Everyone here is committed to advancing her career in banking and finance, and they're exactly the people that you want on your side. We're glad you're here, and let's all learn something new today.
