Ohio Bancorp's acquisition is completed.

CLEVELAND -- National City Corp. said it completed the previously announced acquisition of Ohio Bancorp, a $1.6 billion bank holding company based in Youngstown, Ohio.

Ohio Bancorp shareholders approved the merger Aug. 31.

The company said Ohio Bancorp's five banking units were now its subsidiaries and in April of next year would be merged into National City Bank Northeast. National City said the merged bank would have about $3 billion of assets and more than 90 branch offices in northeast Ohio.
