Magna to buy First National in Madison.

ST. LOUIS - Magna Group said it had reached a definitive agreement to acquire the First National Bank in Madison.

The agreement calls for Magna to issue stock equal to 125 percent of an adjusted book value of First National as of the date prior to the closing. The acquisition is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 1994, they said.

At Sept. 30, First National had assets of $52.7 million and stockholders' equity of $6.4 million.
