FORT LAUDERDALE -- First Financial Management Corp.'s unit, National Bancard Corp., has begun to market its SurePay credit card processing system to retailers nationally.
In a press release, the company said the SurePay access terminal has the ability to read both tracks of a card's magnetic stripe as well as the card's embossed account numbers.
The accompanying SurePay printer captures the entire transaction at the point of sale, including the cardholder's signature, and sends it to National Bancard for storage, where it can be retrieved anytime.
The company said the SurePay system can also interface with an electronic cash register via a new Multi-Reader device, which can read the MICR encoding on checks, the embossed account numbers, and both tracks of the magnetic stripe on credit cards.
