THE NORTH CAROLINA Bankers Association has elected Kelly S. King president. Mr. King is president of Branch Banking and Trust Co., Raleigh, N.C.

Mr. King succeeds Robert F. Lowe, who is chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Lexington State Bank.

James B. Hyler Jr., president of First Citizens Bank in Raleigh, succeeds Mr. King as NCBA president-elect.

The new vice president is Lawrence M. Kimbrough, president and chief executive of First Charter National Bank in Concord.

The association reelected John H. Ketner Jr., president and chief executive of the Bank of Mecklenburg in Charlotte, to another year as treasurer.

The association also reelected the following staff officers at its headquarters in Raleigh: A.D. Fuqua Jr., executive vice president: Dianne L. Williams, vice president-administration, and Edmund D. Aycock, vice president and general counsel.
