Citicorp fills top job at its Italian unit.

MILAN - Sergio Ungaro was promoteed to head of the Italian unit of Citicorp, replacing Aldo Palmeri, who became managing director of Benetton SpA in September.

Mr. Ungaro had been Mr. Palmeri's second-in-command. The top job had been vacant, and Citicorp's Italian activities were supervised by Ernst Brutsche, who is responsible for the New York company's European activities.

Mr. Ungaro's official titles are activity-center manager and country corporate officer for Italy, a Citicorp spokesman said.
