Old Kent sponsoring new baseball park.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Old Kent Bank and Trust Co. is getting on the bank-sports marketing bandwagon by sponsoring construction of a privately owned minor-league baseball stadium.

The western Michigan banking company, which has about $9 billion of assets, said it won the naming rights for the 5,500-seat stadium that will be known as Old Kent Park. The stadium will open on April 12 and house the single-A farm team of the Oakland Athletics. The team previously was based in Madison, Wis.
