Union Bank adding a tax-free bond fund.

Union Bank, the San Francisco-based subsidiary of Bank of Tokyo, will soon add a ninth portfolio to its Union Investors family of funds.

The fund will be called the California Tax Free Bond Fund. It will be administered by SEI Corp. of Wayne, Pa.

The family had five funds when it was introduced in 1991. Union Capital Advisors, a unit of the $16 billion bank, manages the funds, which have more than $1 billion of assets.
