Rocky Mountain names its ATM network 'Peak.'

DENVER -- Rocky Mountain BankCard System, Denver, announced a new name for its automated teller machine network.

The Peak name will identify ATMs at more than 710 locations in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and in Kansas City, Kan., and Missouri.

Previously, the ATMs were identified with the words "automated banking."

"Identifying our ATMs with a common name allows banks that belong to the network to better communicate to their customers the advantages of what we call a 'shared network,'" said John L. Busselmaier, president of Rocky Mountain BankCard.

Mr. Busselmaier described the Peak brand as a focal point for the network's marketing.

"The Peak network will serve as an umbrella theme for customer promotions, new services, and product introductions," he said.

The network will offer screens in Spanish by midsummer.
