Applied to Distribute Vento Software for Running EFT Systems

OMAHA - Applied Communications Inc. has acquired distribution rights to Vento Software Inc. products for managing electronic funds transfer systems.

The agreement gives Applied exclusive worldwide distribution rights to Vento's executive information system and decision support solution software for automated teller machines, point-of-sale terminals, and retail applications.

Applied, a subsidiary of Transaction Systems Architects Inc., said the graphical software applications from Miami-based Vento will complement its own Base24 software, widely used in transaction networks around the world.

David Blyer, president and a co-founder of Vento, said its products "gather information and provide multidimensional analysis with the click of a mouse, while utilizing portable relational-data-base technology and Windows clients,

"By partnering with Applied Communications," he added, "we can now offer a complete solution from data collection and warehousing to graphical decision support for the executive."

Ed Mangold, senior vice president at Applied Communications, said the combination of Vento's graphical mapping solutions and his own firm's Base24 products "gives executives access to the information needed to make timely and informed business decisions in the constantly changing and competitive EFT industry."
