Fairfield County Savings in Conn. Elects Bassos President, CEO

Charles P. Bassos has been elected president, chief executive officer, and a director of the Fairfield County Savings Bank, Norwalk, Conn.

He replaces Philip W. Goodwin, who has been acting president since October 1994 and is now returning to his previous position as vice president of business development.

Mr. Bassos had been president and chief executive of Advest Bank in Hartford for the last three and a half years. Before that he was chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Cenvest Bank in Meriden. From 1968 to 1990, he was with the Connecticut Bank and Trust Co. as a vice president, senior vice president, and executive vice president. Many of those years were spent in Fairfield County where he was in charge of CBT's commercial lending operations. His last position at CBT was as senior credit officer.
