Card Brief: Group 1 Sells Software To Manage Direct Mail

LANHAM, Md. - Group 1 Software, a marketing data base company, has introduced a computer tool designed to help manage costs and track results of direct-mail marketing programs.

The Windows-based software, called InfoCenter, contains extensive postal rate data. The company said its software is effective in avoiding the incorrect or improper addresses that make many mass mailings inefficient.

"The integrity and efficiency of the mailing process is vital to most organizations' operating objectives and profitability," said Paul Tarlow, manager of marketing communications at Group 1 in Lanham, Md. InfoCenter helps address the "deliverability problems (that) can undercut the success of a direct-mail program, adversely affect a company's image, and even reduce its cash flow."
