LONDON - Britain's largest daily newspaper has teamed up with a banking subsidiary of Household International to offer a cobranded Eurocard- MasterCard.

The Sun, which has a circulation of four million, has been publicizing the card in newspaper inserts and offering an introductory bonus of free copies of The Sun and a sister publication, The News of the World.

Cardholders who spend between $392 and $785 by the end of September will earn two weeks of free newspapers; those spending more than $785 will be entitled to a month of free papers.

The Household unit, HFC Bank, is also the issuer in Britain of the General Motors/Vauxhall cobranded credit card, which has signed more than 600,000 customers in a year and a half.
