In Brief: CoreStates Unit Does $70 Million of Financings

BOSTON - Congress Financial Corp., a subsidiary of CoreStates Financial, completed $70 million in financings for East Coast retail and industrial companies.

The financings include a $45 million line of credit for Clean Harbors, an industrial waste management company headquartered in Braintree, Mass., earmarked for the purchase of a thermal oxidation incinerator in Nebraska.

The financings also include a $6.6 million loan to Atlas Paper, Hialeah, Fla., and a $18.75 million loan to Rose's Department Stores, Henderson N.C., which is emerging from bankruptcy.
