Tech bytes: Dynatek Buys Fla. Firm's Products, Customer Base

customer base of Odyssey Software Inc. - along with several software products - for an undisclosed sum. Dynatek will market and support the Delray Beach, Fla., firm's mortgage processing software, which is used by Atlanta-based Commercial Bancorp of Georgia and Midland Bank and Trust Co., Paramus, N.J., among others. Odyssey's software products include SmartFil, which automates residential mortgage originations; and Hud-1, which helps closing attorneys and title companies in the settlement statement process. Dynatek, a mortgage origination software company based in Livonia, Mich., also recently launched Morvision, a Windows 95-based software that lets loan officers complete prequalifications, good-faith estimates, and credit checks through on-line communication and electronic data interchange. Morvision, an upgrade of Dynatek's Express Plus origination software, and is in beta-testing at Crossland Mortgage Corp., Salt lake City.
