Tech bytes: First Chicago Goes On-Line with Quicken

banking and bill payment services through the newest version of Intuit Inc.'s Quicken software. The service gives consumers access to First Chicago banking services through PCs running Microsoft Corp.'s Windows or Windows 95 software. "Customers already comfortable with Quicken can use the new service to download their banking information in just seconds," said Tim Kemp, manager of on-line services at First Chicago. First Chicago already offers access to banking services through Microsoft's personal finance software package, Money. More than 20 financial institutions have already taken steps to provide banking services through the new version of Quicken, which was unveiled late last month. First Chicago charges $3.95 per month for on-line banking, $6.95 per month for bill payment, and $9.95 per month for both services.
