Fifth Third Names Executive

Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati, has promoted Robert L. Ernst and Diane L. Stafford to senior vice president.

Mr. Ernst had been vice president for affiliate administration. His duties, unchanged by the higher rank, include involvement with acquisition candidates, the retail administration of Fifth Third Bancorp, and the management of the 82 Cincinnati banking centers, including 20 seven-day-a- week Bank Mart locations.

Ms. Stafford's responsibilities include the management of many operations areas, including payment services, bankcard processing, mail services, and Midwest payment systems operations. She supervises 400 employees.
