In Brief: Minnesota Bankers Group Picks New Chief

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Bankers Association has named Wesley Ehrecke to succeed Truman Jeffers, its retiring executive vice president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Ehrecke, 40, who will take his new post on July 1, has more than 17 years of trade association management experience.

He spent 13 years with the Iowa Bankers Association, including five years as senior vice president. He has been executive vice president and chief executive of the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives since 1991.

"I will work to build on and add to the initiatives begun under Truman Jeffers' leadership," Mr. Ehrecke said. "I welcome this opportunity to manage a strong and active bankers association."

Mr. Jeffers, 61, has been with the trade group since 1961 and was named executive vice president in 1970.
