In Brief: Ohio Governor Signs Updated Bank Code

Gov. George Voinovich has signed the state's updated bank code into law.

The new code, which becomes effective Jan. 1, eliminates some paperwork and gives banks more flexibility in various areas of operation.

The Ohio Bankers Association said it will work with both state and national banks in Ohio to prepare for the changes in the regulations.
