United Security Of Spokane Signs Up Emery As President

United Security Bancorp., Spokane, Wash., has hired Richard C. Emery as president. He is to start Monday and is also to hold the newly created title of chief operating officer.

William C. Dashiell, 58, will remain chairman and chief executive officer but relinquish the presidency to Mr. Emery, 56. Mr. Dashiell will also remain chairman of United Security Bank.

Mr. Emery founded American National Bank of Kennewick, Wash., in 1981 and sold it last year to First Hawaiian Corp. First Hawaiian renamed it Pacific One Bank, and Mr. Emery stayed on as president and CEO of $165 million-asset bank.

Before founding American National, Mr. Emery was a vice president and branch manager in Spokane for Farmers and Merchants Bank.

United Security Bancorp. has $340 million of assets.
