Tech Bytes: BroadVision Product Customizes Transactions

BroadVision Inc. said it has begun shipping its One-to-One Financial WebApp for Internet banking, brokerage, and asset management services.

The highly personalized customer interaction technology significantly shortens the time it takes to put a financial service on the market and reduces costs as much as 75%, BroadVision said.

Available for turnkey installation, Financial WebApp is based on the company's One-to-One marketing software and offers an extensive menu of account statement, transaction tracking, funds transfer, quotation, and related services.

The financial product resulted from "what we have learned from working with more than 20 financial institutions worldwide," said BroadVision president and chief executive officer Pehong Chen.

One user, Argentaria of Spain, offered 55 types of on-line transactions using One-to-One, and its customers "feel better served," said Joseph Montero, the bank's director of virtual financial services. "When we immediately alert customers by pager, e-mail, or cellular phone when an account balance gets to be a certain amount, they are given treatment that could not even be replicated by bank personnel before now."
