In Brief: Mobile Home Company's Revenue Up 26%

American Homestar Corp., a mobile-home maker, retailer, and lender, announced a 26% increase in revenue for both the fourth quarter and for the year ended May 31.

Fourth-quarter revenue rose to $147 million, from $116 million a year ago.

Yearend revenue grew to $514 million, from $409 million, and net income increased 17%, to $17.9 million. The company took a $2.69 million charge for the year related to its June 1997 acquisition of Brilliant Homes, and early debt payoff.

American Homestar operates 86 retail sales centers, serves 40 retail franchisees and 300 independent retail locations in 28 states, and makes loans through affiliates of Century 21 Mortgage.
