Bank of the West, San Francisco, a subsidiary of BancWest Corp., hired five California executives for vice presidential posts.

Robert P. Cabrera was named a trust officer in trust and financial services. He was a vice president and senior trust administrator at Union Bank of California.

James B. Boxold was appointed construction loan officer in the real estate industries group. He worked at Retail Property Services, a property management company that frequently deals with foreclosed properties, and was a vice president and senior officer for other real estate at Union Bank.

James P. Moore was named business development officer in community banking for the Valley region. He was a vice president and senior business development officer at Sumitomo Bank of California. Before that he had been a vice president and branch manager at Bank of the West.

Sarah D. Lewis was appointed marketing portfolio officer for business banking in the South Bay area. She was a mortgage loan consultant at Fortune Financial/Comerica Mortgage Corp.

Nancy B. Holmes was named employee relations manager in the human resources department. She was division human resources manager at Circuit City Stores Inc.
