In Brief: Australian Appointed To Key HomeSide Job

HomeSide Lending has named David Thompson senior vice president and director of strategic planning.Mr. Thompson, 37, comes from HomeSide's parent company, National Australia Bank. He is to develop the company's strategy and make sure it fits with that of the parent. He reports to Kevin Race, chief financial officer.

A native Australian, Mr. Thompson spent the last eight years in National Australia Bank's Melbourne offices, where he was head of finance for the bank's wholesale activities, including treasury, corporate banking, structured finance, and investment banking.
