Card Brief: Denver Firm in Deal With Macao Bus Line

Racom Systems Inc., a leader in contactless smart card technology, said it has won a major contract from a bus system operator in Macao.

By yearend more than 300 buses run by Transmac Transportes Urbanos de Macau are to be equipped with a Racom card reader for rapid processing of monthly passes and fares. The initial contract phase is worth $250,000 to Racom, which said it expects to deliver more than 100,000 cards and several hundred readers.

Racom president and chief executive officer Art Rancis said further work for Transmac is possible. The company's other operations include a 399-bus fleet in Guangzhou, China.
