In Brief: Branch Changing Hands In Upstate New York

Elmira Savings Bank in New York State has a deal to buy a branch from FNB Rochester Corp.

The price was not disclosed. The deal includes the branch, in Elmira, and about $14 million of deposits.

Elmira Savings, with $232 million of assets, has six locations in New York and Pennsylvania.

FNB is parent of First National Bank of Rochester, a $590 million-asset bank with 18 branches in western New York. After the sale it would still operate a single branch in Elmira.

The sale is expected to close in the first quarter.
