Morgan Stanley Veteran to Run Barclays' U.S. Stock and Bond Unit

Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of London's Barclays Group, has tapped a Morgan Stanley veteran to head its U.S. equities and bond business.

Peter Needham joins Barclays as a managing director and U.S. regional manager of equities and bonds, a new position. Mr. Needham will be responsible for integrating Barclays' U.S.-based equity and bond groups with the British banking company's U.S. government finance business.

He will be based in New York and report to Kevin Mirabile, Barclays' New York-based global head of equity and bond finance.

The co-heads of U.S. government finance book reporting, Vince Bonaventura and Nick Boulukos, will continue to report to Mr. Mirabile.

Mr. Needham spent the last 15 years with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co., where he served as treasurer for both Morgan Stanley International in London and Morgan Stanley Trust Company in New York.
