Tech Bytes: Cybercash Appoints VP of Global Business

Steve Crispinelli, who has played a key role in Cybercash Inc.'s international expansion efforts, has been promoted to vice president, global business development.

Mr. Crispinelli, 50, will be responsible for strategic relationships and business development outside the United States. He had helped establish the Internet payment company's relationships with Sumitomo Bank and Softbank in Japan, Dresdner Bank and Sachsen LB in Germany, Barclays Bank in the United Kingdom, and Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Canada.

"Steve's charter is to forge new relationships with merchants, key strategic alliance partners, and financial institutions," said executive vice president Bruce Wilson. "He has already helped develop some of our strongest relationships within the international banking community and significantly expanded our overseas merchant base."

Before joining Cybercash in 1996, Mr. Crispinelli launched ITSI, a European data security company, while living Britain. He has also worked for Diebold Inc., Northern Telecom, and Olivetti.
