Fleet Credit Card Services has signed a marketing deal with 24/7 Media Inc., a company that places Internet advertisements on Web sites.
24/7 is to market Visa and MasterCard products from the Fleet Financial Group subsidiary on the 250 Web sites in its network. Companies that belong to the network include American Banker, AT&T, MapQuest, and Readers Digest.
The companies said the multiyear deal could generate up to $32 million for 24/7 Media and many new credit card relationships for Fleet.
24/7 said its network reaches half the on-line users in the United States. Fleet is to begin by placing banner ads on select sites and may eventually forge cobranding deals with some of them.
"24/7's proposition is compelling-tremendous reach combined with data- base-driven targeting," said Joseph W. Saunders, the chairman and chief executive officer of Fleet Credit Card Services in Horsham, Pa.
