In Brief: On-Line Media Distributor Adds 5 Vendors

RoweCom Inc. said it has established five more partnerships with Internet corporate procurement vendors.

RoweCom, which specializes in digital document distribution, recently added partnerships with Sun-Netscape Alliance, Clarus Corp., Commerce One Inc., Concur Technologies Inc., and RightWorks. It had already teamed up with Ariba Inc., Intelisys, and Trilogy Software.

Knowledge Store, RoweCom's main product, is being integrated into each of the partners' procurement systems. This will give their total of more than 400 corporate clients access to 45,000 magazines, journals, and newspapers from more than 15,000 publishers, as well as to eight million discounted books via Barnesandnoble.com.

"The variety and quality of these procurement alliances position RoweCom to extend its reach within the corporate desktop market," said Richard Rowe, president and chief executive officer of RoweCom, which went public in February. He said more alliances are in the offing.
