Tech Bytes: Xcert Unveils Product Approval Program

The data encryption company Xcert International Inc. has launched an OpenXchange Partner Program for vendors it cooperates with.

Xcert said that the program underscores its commitment to open and standards-based cryptographic software and public key infrastructures, or PKIs, and that it expects to widen the appeal of its Sentry CA technology.

"Xcertified" seals of approval will be awarded for products that meet the integration requirements for large-scale PKI deployments, the company said.

Existing Xcert allies are in the partner program, including Certicom, eOriginal Inc., Telecash of Germany, GlobalSign of Belgium, Unisys Corp., Chrysalis-ITS, and Digital Signature Trust Co.

Among the new members are Arcot Systems, LockStar, Shym Technology, Aventail, nCipher, SmartDisk, Celo Communiations, Dascom, Datakey, Entegrity Solutions, and Rainbow Technologies.

"The primary goal is to provide integrated and certified solutions for customers with 100,000 users," said Xcert chief technology officer Patrick Richard. "Every product vendor, channel partner, and systems integrator that joins the program is working toward this goal."
