In Brief: Freddie: 30-Year Loans Rose to 7.89% in Week

week that ended Aug. 6, up from 7.70% the week before, according to Freddie Mac.

A year before the average was 6.94%.

Fifteen-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 7.45% in the latest week, up from 7.29% the week before and 6.63% a year earlier.

And one-year adjustables averaged 6.09%, up from 5.99% the week before and 5.61% a year earlier.
