Short Takes: Assets in Money Funds Jumped 0.6% in Week

Assets in money market funds increased 0.60%, to $1.498 trillion, in the week that ended Aug. 18, the Investment Company Institute reported.

Retail money fund assets rose 0.18%, to $889.44 billion during that period. Taxable assets in that category increased 0.20%, to $738.06 billion, and tax-exempt funds rose 0.07%, to $151.38 billion.

Institutional money fund assets increased 1.37%, to $609.05 billion. Taxable assets in that category rose 1.44%, to $560.30 billion, and tax-exempt funds were up 0.63%, to $48.74 billion.
