Republic N.Y. Postpones Merger Meeting

Republic New York Corp. said Friday it would postpone a special meeting of shareholders to vote on its proposed $10.3 billion merger with HSBC Holdings.

The vote, originally planned for Thursday, has been rescheduled to Oct. 12. Republic said it intends to supplement its proxy statement to include information on a federal probe into allegations of misconduct in its Republic New York Securities unit.
