Canada Bank Adds U.S.-Dollar Funds

made eight of its 43 proprietary Green Line Mutual Funds available in U.S. dollars to Canadian investors.

The equity funds cover several sectors and include blue-chip and science and technology portfolios, as well as funds that invest in international and Latin American stocks. Their addition brings to 10 the number of Green Line portfolios that can be bought using U.S. dollars, said Patricia Lovett-Reid, a managing director at TD Asset Management.

Such funds target Canadians who winter in the United States, as well as Canadian investors who want the currency diversification, Ms. Lovett-Reid said. The $18 billion-asset Green Line family is still available in Canada only, but Canadian investors in the United States can gain access to their accounts electronically, she said.
