The Gay Financial Network Names Executives

The Gay Financial Network in New York has named Andrew Tobias, the financial planning software pioneer, to its board of directors.

The network's Web site, gfn.com, offers news and specialized financial and investment services to the gay and lesbian community.

Mr. Tobias, 52, is the treasurer of the Democratic National Committee. He is also the author of 12 books and the father of the Managing Your Money financial planning program. He has also launched his own Internet personal finance enterprise, www.personalfund.com. (See related story on page 16.)

Evergreen Bank in Warrensburg, N.Y., has promoted John Hersey to assistant vice president.

Mr. Hersey manages the bank's Warrensburg branch. He joined the bank in 1990 as a management trainee. Earlier he was a sales manager at Lincoln Logs Ltd., a toy company in Chestertown, N.Y.

Evergreen Bank is a subsidiary of $4.3 billion-asset Burlington, Vt.-based Banknorth Group Inc.
