National City Corp. Names Executives

National City Corp., in Cleveland has hired Richard J. DeKaser to be senior vice president and chief economist.

Mr. DeKaser will be in charge of providing economic research and analysis to National City senior managers and clients. He will also be responsible for risk management, economic forecasting, and financial market analysis. He is moving from Boston to Cleveland to succeed Ted Tung, who recently retired.

Mr. DeKaser was a senior financial economist at BankBoston Corp. for nearly 10 years. Earlier he was an economist at DRI/McGraw-Hill and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

National City has $85 billion of assets.
