Tech Bytes: Amalgamated to Use Thomson Software

Amalgamated Bank of New York has purchased performance measurement software from Thomson Investment Software, a division of Thomson Financial Services, which is also American Banker's parent organization.

The Perascope system will measure time- and dollar-weighted returns of the bank's 320 portfolios, which have nearly $5 billion of assets.

Ted Brunner, first vice president of Amalgamated, said the system will help the bank analyze the effects of asset allocation and comply with industry performance presentation standards.

Perascope is also available from Thomson through a service bureau, though it will be installed on-site at Amalgamated.
