CNB of Indiana Names Knapp To Lead Merged Civitas Bank

CNB Bancshares of Evansville, Ind., has promoted David L. Knapp to president of Civitas Bank, its newly unified bank charter.

Citizens National Bank in Evansville was renamed Civitas last week, and CNB's other bank, Pinnacle Bank, was merged into it. Mr. Knapp was president of Citizens National.

He will remain executive vice president and secretary of the $7.2 billion-asset holding company, and four new division presidents will report to him. They are:

John N. Daniel, Evansville division. Mr. Daniel is in charge of the old Citizens National as well as branches in Henderson, Ky.; Mount Carmel, Ill.; and Tell City and Jasper, Ind. He was chief credit officer of the parent company and a senior vice president. (Thomas E. Bajusz has taken those titles; he was Pinnacle's senior vice president of commercial lending.)

M. Lynn Cooper, central division. He will work in Greenwood, Ind., and run branches in the Indiana communities of Terre Haute, Columbus, Bloomington, and Orleans as well as in Louisville, Ky. Mr. Cooper was CNB's affiliate bank coordinator and an executive vice president.

Thomas A. Galovic 3d, northern division. He is responsible for operations in Valparaiso and Lafayette, Ind., and in St. Joseph, Mich. Mr. Galovic was CNB's president for Lake and Porter counties in Indiana.

Dwight Nestrick, western Kentucky and southern Illinois. He was Citizens Bank's Kentucky president.

James J. Giancola remains president and chief executive officer of CNB Bancshares.
