Tech Bytes: Risk Management Firm Hires Senior Execs

Kroll-O'Gara Co., a security and risk management company that formed an information security group after its February acquisition of Securify Inc., announced several high-level hirings in that unit.

All are well known in financial or data security circles, including Mary Dobbs Corroon, formerly of First Data Corp. and Andersen Consulting, who was named the group's chief operating officer.

At First Data, she worked on electronic commerce consulting and a consumer marketing partnership with banks.

Sameer Parekh, who is prominent in Internet privacy and cryptography circles, joined Kroll-O'Gara as a senior consultant. Also coming in with that title are Jon Callas, who was chief technology officer of Network Associates' total network security division, and Robert J. Schlecht, director of security development of Interlink Computer Sciences.
