Heritage Oaks in Calif. Hires Former Rabobank Executive for New Post

Heritage Oaks Bancorp in Paso Robles, Calif., has hired a veteran banker to fill a newly created post.

Rick Arredondo has joined the $1.7 billion-asset company as president and chief banking officer of its banking unit. In his newly created role as chief banking officer, Arredondo is responsible for overseeing consumer-facing operations, including business banking and marketing.

Arredondo recently served as president and chief operating officer at the $14.6 billion-asset Rabobank in Roseville, Calif. He is also a former chief operating officer at the $3.2 billion-asset Mellon 1st Business Bank in Los Angeles, which sold itself to U.S. Bancorp in June 2008.

"We are very pleased to have someone with Rick's extensive banking experience join our company," Simone Lagomarsino, the company's chief executive, said in a press release Wednesday. "He has the strong banking background and leadership qualities that are important to us."

Lagomarsino — who was named a community banker of the year by American Banker in 2013 — had been the bank's president.
