Activities to reduce stress/promote fun: Chesapeake encourages employees to go together as a group to patronize area stores and restaurants on the third Thursday of each month, as part of a shop local initiative. The employees wear their bank T-shirts (which read "Buck Stays Here") and take pictures to post to their social media accounts.

Sustainability initiative: All of the bank's computer equipment and electronics get recycled at ARC of the Peninsula. This e-recycling program creates jobs for people with disabilities and helps the environment by keeping tons of waste out of landfills.
