Eagle Financial in Va. begins search for next CEO

Eagle Financial Services in Berryville, Va., is looking for a new president and CEO.

The $800 million-asset company said in a press release Thursday that John Milleson plans to retire in mid-2019. The timing is subject to a successful search process and transition to Milleson’s successor.

Milleson, who was 61 when Eagle filed its proxy statement last May, joined the bank in 1984. He became president and CEO in 1999, when Eagle had $153 million in assets.

“Johnny Milleson’s performance over the past 20 years as president has been exemplary,” Tom Gilpin, Eagle’s chairman, said in the release. “The company will miss his leadership. I am confident that we will identify and hire a new [CEO] to continue the success of this outstanding organization.”

Eagle said its board has formed a search committee and hired Korn Ferry to find a new CEO.
