First Commonwealth Adds Ex-PNC Executive to Board

First Commonwealth Financial (FCF) has added a former executive of PNC Financial (PNC) to its board.

The $6 billion-asset company based in Indiana, Pa., said Monday it has appointed Jon Gorney as a director.

Gorney retired from PNC in June 2010 after 37 years in the financial industry. He served on PNC's executive and management committees and co-led its integration of National City Corp. following its acquisition of the Cleveland bank.

"First Commonwealth is fortunate to have someone with Jon's distinguished credentials and extensive financial experience providing oversight and governance for our organization," David Dahlmann, First Commonwealth's chairman, said in a news release. "His expertise in the areas of technology and operations will be a tremendous resource as we strive to serve our customers in the most efficient manner possible."

Mr. Gorney previously served as chief executive of National Processing Co., a merchant card processor that had been majority-owned by National City.
