Katie Wreed Bell is Managing Consultant at Gallup. Across her tenure, Ms. Bell has led many of Gallup’s well-being initiatives, including the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index in the United States, Germany and United Kingdom. Gallup has committed to continuing this groundbreaking initiative, which interviews more than 1,000 Americans daily.

Katie joined Gallup in 2005 as a Healthcare Practice Partner. She brought to Gallup 12 years’ experience in consulting with executive leaders on productivity, employee engagement, succession planning,customer loyalty, and leadership development.

Before joining Gallup, Katie worked as a Director for The Advisory Board Company. Prior to this experience, she served as practice leader for a publicly held human capital management consulting firm. While with both those firms, she regularly advised executives and management groups in the areas of strategic planning, operational restructuring, and organizational development.

Ms. Bell graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelors of Science in Business and Education. She speaks globally on the topic of health and wellbeing and makes appearances on local and national media programs; including the Dr. Oz show and TED. Ms. Bell lives in Atlanta where she serves on the Advisory Board for the Trust for Public Land and is an active volunteer in her community for health and wellbeing.

Suni P. Harford

Suni Harford is a Managing Director and Citigroup's Regional Head of Markets for North America.  In this capacity, Suni oversees the North American sales, trading, and origination businesses of Citi's securities and banking franchise.  Citi maintains a premier position across all of its fixed income, currency, equity and commodities offerings.  In addition to her current responsibilities, Suni is a member of Citi's Pension Plan Investment Committee, and a Director on the Board of Citibank Canada.  Suni is also the co head of Citigroup's global women's initiative, Citi Women.

Prior to this assignment, Suni was Citi's Global Head of Fixed Income research, where she was responsible for Citigroup's credit analytics, research strategy and fixed income quantitative analytics efforts globally. Ms. Harford also had oversight of Citi's premier fixed income analytics platform, The Yield Book.  From 1995-2004, Ms. Harford served as the co-head of Citi's Fixed Income Capital Markets origination business, where she managed relationships with financial institutions.

Ms. Harford recently joined the Board of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation.  DTCC is the world's largest post-trade financial services company.  Ms. Harford is also passionate about awareness and support for our veteran community, and is involved in many organizations in this regard.  In addition to serving on the US Chamber of Commerce Veteran's Employment Advisory Council, Suni is seconded to Citi's ex-Chairman Dick Parsons and his work with First Lady Michele Obama's Joining Forces initiative.  She represents Citi as a founding member of Veterans on Wall Street, a coalition of major financial services firms established in 2010 to engage the broader industry in efforts to support our transitioning veterans.  Having helped formalize Citi’s very successful Veterans Initiative, CitiSalutes, in 2009, Ms. Harford remains the senior business sponsor for the initiative.  In addition to her work with veterans, Suni serves on the Board of Directors for The Forte Foundation, a national organization dedicated to increasing the number of women leaders in business, is on the MBA Advisory Board at the Tuck School at Dartmouth, and recently joined the Board of the Friends of Hudson River Park.

Ms. Harford joined Salomon Brothers in January 1993, after five years with Merrill Lynch & Co. where she was a Vice President in Investment Banking.  She joined Merrill upon graduation from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where she received her MBA in 1988.  Prior to business school, Ms. Harford was an actuary at Insurance Services Office, Inc. 

Suni received her Bachelor of Science degree from Denison University, where she majored in physics and math. Suni lives in Connecticut with her husband and three children: Devon (15), Jenna (12) and Liam (9).

Margaret Keane is the CEO of GE Capital Retail Bank and CEO and President of GE Capital’s Retail Finance business. The business provides private label credit card programs, bankcards, installment lending, promotional financing and financial services for consumers through its retail partners and dealers, originated through GE Capital Retail Bank.

Margaret joined GE in 1996 as Quality Leader for GE Capital's Vendor Financial Services (VFS) business. She went on to serve in a variety of roles at VFS, including Global Operations Leader and Shared Services Leader of the Mid-Market Leasing Businesses. In 1999, Margaret was named Chief Quality Officer for GE Capital.

Margaret joined the consumer finance business in 2002, serving as SVP for Operations. In that role, she was responsible for all Customer Service, Sourcing, Real Estate, Facilities and Technology. In May of 2004, she became CEO of GE Capital Retail Consumer Finance where she led the retail credit card business. She was named a GE Officer in 2005.

In May of 2004, Margaret joined GE Capital Retail Consumer Finance where she led the retail credit card business. She was named a GE Officer in 2005 and her scope of responsibility increased in April 2011 with being named CEO of the GE Capital Retail Bank, along with leading the Retail Finance business. Margaret has been named by American Banker Magazine as one of the Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking and Finance every year since 2007.

Margaret began her professional career at Citicorp where she held leadership roles in Sales, Marketing and Operations over the course of 16 years. She attended St. John’s University, earning a Masters degree in Marketing and Bachelors in Political Science. Margaret serves on the cabinet of the GE Women’s Network.

Sallie Krawcheck
#2 of The Women to Watch for 2012

Sallie L. Krawcheck has built a career that demonstrates it is possible to turn around and substantially grow troubled financial services businesses through eliminating a number of Wall Street conflicts of interests and focusing on the investing client. She is currently an industry commentator and LinkedIn INfluencer, with 140K followers, focusing on her passions: regulatory reform, the analysis of big banks, and women in business. In addition, she is advising a number of start-ups, both formally and informally.

Ms. Krawcheck’s experience includes:

  • Reversing the decline in Merrill Lynch’s profitability and Financial Advisor headcount and stabilizing US Trust while at Bank of America, gaining share across the wealth management businesses;
  • Separating research from investment banking at Citi, to restore the business’ reputation and profitability in the wake of the Wall Street research scandal;
  • Substantially growing Sanford Bernstein’s research business by exiting the investment banking business and producing what is broadly agreed to be the highest quality research on Wall Street; and
  • Integrating and launching the innovative MerrillEdge, Merrill Lynch’s on-line offering.

In addition, alone among senior Wall Street executives, Ms. Krawcheck reimbursed individual investor clients for a portion of losses incurred during the financial downturn from poorly performing products sold by Citi and, later again, at Bank of America. She provided 0% interest rate loans to investors caught in frozen Auction Rate Securities in 2008.

Ms. Krawcheck is past president of Global Wealth & Investment Management for Bank of America, the largest wealth management business in the world during her tenure, with $17 billion in revenue and $2.2 trillion in client balances. This business provides comprehensive wealth management services to clients across the range of wealth globally. It also provides retirement and benefit plan services, philanthropic management and asset management services to individuals and institutions. Its operating businesses include Merrill Lynch and US Trust.

Prior to joining Bank of America, Ms. Krawcheck was the chief executive officer and chairman for Citi Global Wealth Management, responsible for the Citi Private Bank, Citi Smith Barney and Citi Investment Research. During her time at Citi, she was also a member of the senior leadership committee and executive committee.

Ms. Krawcheck joined Citi in October 2002 as chairman and chief executive officer of Smith Barney, where she oversaw the global management of the Smith Barney and Citi Investment Research businesses. In 2004, she was appointed chief financial officer for Citigroup. In this role she was responsible for a number of asset dispositions, including the sales of Travelers P&C and Citi Asset Management.

Prior to joining Citi, Ms. Krawcheck was chairman and chief executive officer of Sanford C. Bernstein & Company. She began her career as a research analyst, covering the financial services industry, a role in which she was consistently ranked first in her field by “Institutional Investor.”

During the Wall Street research scandals, Fortune Magazine called Ms. Krawcheck “The Last Honest Analyst” and noted that hers was the most influential voice for research quality and integrity. She has been consistently listed as one of Forbes’ and Fortune’s “Most Powerful Women” in business and U.S. Banker’s top “Woman to Watch”. She is a past recipient of CNBC's “Business Leader of the Future Award,” was one of Time magazine’s “Global Business Influentials,” Fortune’s “Most Influential Person Under the Age of 40” and an “Institutional Investor” top CFO in financial services. She was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leaders.

A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Ms. Krawcheck attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on the Morehead Scholarship and graduated in 1987 with highest honors in Journalism and Political Science. She also received the Presidential Scholarship. In 1992, she received a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.

An active participant in the affairs of her alma maters, Ms. Krawcheck has endowed her former secondary school, The Porter Gaud School, with the Krawcheck Scholarship, a needs-based scholarship awarding full tuition to students of exceptional aptitude. She is on the Board of Motif Investing and an Advisor to Care.com and Gold Bullion International. She is a member of the Bretton Woods Committee, on the board of Carnegie Hall, on the investment committee for The University of North Carolina and a member of the board of overseers of Columbia University Business School. Ms. Krawcheck is a past member of the Board of Directors of Dell Inc, Blackrock and the NY Economic Club.

Diana Reid

Diana Reid is Executive Vice President of The PNC Financial Services Group, and head of PNC Real Estate, the bank’s commercial real estate business. PNC Real Estate delivers lending and banking products for commercial real estate companies; multifamily agency financing and tax credit capital for apartment owners and developers; as well as commercial loan servicing, asset management and technology solutions through Midland Loan Services. The business includes over 1,000 employees serving commercial real estate companies nationwide.

Prior to joining PNC in 2007, Reid was a founding and managing partner of Beekman Advisors and has been involved in the banking industry for over thirty years including 19 years at the investment bank Credit Suisse.

Reid was elected as a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute (2012 – 2016), the premier association for commercial real estate professionals. In addition to serving as Trustee, she is a member of ULI Pittsburgh District Council, the Urban Development Mixed Use Product Council, and member of the Executive Committee for ULI’s Women’s Leadership Initiative. Reid was a founding member of the Board of Governors of the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association (1994-2002); member of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council Board of Governors (2009-2012); member of the Commercial Multifamily Board of Governors of the Mortgage Bankers Association (1996-2004 and 2008-2012); member of the Board of Governors of the National Multi Housing Council (2003-2007). Reid is an active member of the Real Estate Roundtable. Reid has served on and led numerous councils, committees and task forces on industry issues and is currently active on MBA’s Multifamily GSE Reform Task Force.

Pamela Ryckman

Pamela Ryckman is the author of Stiletto Network: Inside the Women’s Power Circles That Are Changing the Face of Business. She has written for The New York Times, Financial Times, Fortune.com/CNNMoney, The New York Observer, and The New York Sun, among other publications.

Before becoming a journalist, Pamela performed internal strategy work for Merrill Lynch’s Global Markets and Investment Banking Group, and for Goldman, Sachs & Co.’s Equities Financial and Strategic Management group. She began her career at Mitchell Madison Group, a management consulting firm.

Pamela earned her A.B. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University and her Master of Arts in Journalism from New York University. She is fluent in French and proficient in Italian.

Pamela is on the board of Page 73 Productions, which develops and produces new work by early-career playwrights. From 2003 to 2009, Pamela was on the board of The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York, which won a 2010 Tony Award for Excellence in the Theatre. She lives with her family in Manhattan.

Dorothy A. Savarese

Dorothy A. Savarese is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, an independent Massachusetts state-chartered mutual savings bank founded in 1855. The Cape Cod Five has grown to $2.1 billion in assets with a number one market share position in both deposits and loans on Cape Cod. The Bank has 16 branches and 2 loan production offices throughout the Cape and Islands and in Southeastern Massachusetts. For residential loans in 2012, the Cape Cod Five had the number one market share in Barnstable County and the eighth largest market share state-wide. In the past few years, the Cape Cod Five has grown Small Business Administration 504 loans from a ranking of 68 in the state for 2009 to a ranking of 4 in the state for 2012. The Bank’s Trust Department, established in 2004, has grown to $768.9 million in assets under management and, in addition, to its portfolio loans, the Bank has $1.1 billion in its serviced portfolio.

Dorothy joined Cape Cod Five in 1993 as a commercial lending officer. She then became Senior Vice President, Director of Product Planning before she was named Chief Operating Officer in 2004 and served in that capacity until becoming President and Chief Executive Officer in 2005. Prior to joining the Cape Cod Five, Dorothy served as an officer for a regional Midwestern bank. Before that, she worked for a national economic development consulting organization. Dorothy received an MBA from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School.

Dorothy is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cape Cod Five and Chairman of The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Trust, with $12 million in assets. Dorothy is also the Chairman of the Massachusetts Bankers Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the American Bankers Mutual Insurance Ltd. and is a member of the American Bankers Association’s Community Bankers Council. Dorothy also serves on the FDIC Advisory Committee on Community Banking. She is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Board of Trustees of Cape Cod Community College. In 2012, Dorothy was named one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking by American Bankers magazine.

Coryann Stefansson

Cory focuses on supervision and policy issues pertinent to systemically important foreign and domestic bank and financial market utilities. Her areas of expertise include stress testing, prudential standards, risk management, governance and capital. Moreover, Cory has been one of the firm’s leading voices regarding implications of the Volcker Rule and more broadly the Dodd Frank Act. Most recently, she has been tasked with leading the firm’s advisory efforts regarding the new regulations for foreign banking organizations. She regularly speaks at conferences regarding the Volcker Rule, the future of banking supervision, regulatory capital and other banking policy topics.

During her tenure at PwC, she has also advised major international banks on specific regulatory concerns including responding to enforcement actions and improving and deepening regulatory communication and creditability. Cory also spends part of her time in the federal regulatory space advising clients on how to increase the impact of data monitoring and surveillance as a supervision tool.

Prior to joining PwC, Cory was an associate director at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, with responsibility for advising staff and the Governors on issues relating to the largest, most complex banking organizations, including applications, enforcement actions, and matters related to safety and soundness. During the recent financial crisis, Cory led the Supervisory Capital Assessment Program, commonly referred to as the Supervisory Stress Tests and the precursor to CCAR.

Prior to her responsibilities at the Board of Governors, Cory led Basel II implementation for the Federal Reserve System from 2003 to mid-2007. She was a lead Federal Reserve representative in the interagency committee for development of the US version of Basel II rules and guidance. She was a key participant in the development of Supervisory Colleges both in the US and in the Basel Committee sponsored Accord Implementation Group. She served as the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve’s representative for the Accord Implementation Group and the Standards Implementation Group. Cory also held a number of leadership positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, including in the Market Risk Group and in Relationship Management for large, complex banking organizations.

While a relationship manager for a complex foreign bank, she coordinated and negotiated with a number of foreign regulatory agencies including the FSA and the EBK regarding supervisory issues of mutual interest . Cory also spent a number of years in the capital markets, where she traded bank debt and later brokered derivatives for financial organizations.

Julie Willams

Julie is the former First Senior Deputy Comptroller and Chief Counsel of the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In her work with clients, Julie emphasizes the importance of developing insights into the government expectations that undergird regulatory and compliance requirements. She has an exceptional command of financial services law and regulation, amassed during two decades as the OCC’s top lawyer. She plays a pivotal coordinating role at Promontory in her capacity as Director of the Domestic Advisory Practice.

Julie joined Promontory following a distinguished two-decade career at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, during which she was the top legal adviser to four Comptrollers and served as Acting Comptroller on two occasions. She oversaw the Law Department, Licensing Department, and Community Affairs Department, and served on the Executive Committee. She earned wide respect for legal acumen, strategic thinking and rigorous problem solving, and command of interagency processes.

Julie joined the OCC as Deputy Chief Counsel in 1993 and was promoted to Chief Counsel a year later. She went on to become First Senior Deputy Comptroller, and served two stints as Acting Comptroller of the Currency, during 1998 and 2004-05. During her tenure, she was responsible for developments in key areas of banking law, oversaw the OCC’s participation in an unprecedented series of victories in the U.S. Supreme court, and initiated new approaches to consumer protection enforcement. She also helped to present the OCC’s positions to Congress during the development of major banking legislation, including the Dodd-Frank Act and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and has testified before Congress on numerous occasions.

Before joining the OCC, Julie worked for 10 years as a senior lawyer with the Office of Thrift Supervision and its predecessor, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. Her roles included Senior Deputy Chief Counsel, responsible for regulations and legislation, corporate and securities law, and general legal issues, and Deputy Chief Counsel for Securities and Corporate Analysis.

Julie earned a J.D. at Antioch School of Law and a B.A. at Goddard College.

Kelly is Managing Director and Global Head of the Customized Fund Investment Group. CFIG manages over $27 billion of client commitments to private equity and real estate funds, and specializes in designing tailored portfolios for investors. In addition, CFIG provides portfolio management services for over $130 billion of client commitments to private equity. Ms. Williams was an Executive Director with Prudential's private equity group where she founded CFIG in 1999. Ms. Williams was previously an associate with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy, where she specialized in global project finance.

Ms. Williams graduated magna cum laude from Union College in 1986 and received her JD from NYU School of Law in 1989. Kelly was elected to the YWCA Academy of Women Leaders in 2007. She is a member of the Metro Chapter of YPO and serves on the Board of Trustees of Union College and the Robert Toigo Foundation. She is the founding board chair of the Private Equity Women Investor Network. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Council of Urban Professionals and the advisory board of the Association of Asian American Investment Managers. She is also the chair of the LP Advisory Board to the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity. Kelly was recognized in 2011 and 2012 by American Banker magazine as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance and received the 2012 Woman of Power and Influence Award given by the National Organization for Women.
