Alessandro DiNello is Director of Retail Banking for Flagstar Bank, FSB, a $15 billion bank headquartered in Troy, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Flagstar operates its branch banking unit in Michigan, Indiana and Georgia. Flagstar is also one of the largest mortgage lender in the nation. Mr. DiNello has been with Flagstar and its predecessor, Security Savings, since 1979. He was named President of Security Savings Bank in 1993. Mr. DiNello became Community Bank President of Security after its acquisition by First Security Savings Bank in 1994. After Security and First Security were combined to form Flagstar Bank, Mr. DiNello became head of retail banking.Mr. DiNello provides guidance to over 1000 employees and is currently responsible for the Banks 165 branch banking network, including the associated investment program (Investment and Insurance Services at Flagstar Bank), its nationwide Internet banking channel, known as Flagstar Direct, and its Government Banking group.Before joining Flagstar, Mr. DiNello was a Bank Examiner. He holds a degree in Business Administration with an Accounting major from Western Michigan University. Professional affiliations include being a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Bankers Association and a member of the Administrative Committee of the Governmental Relations Council of the American Bankers Association.Mr. DiNello has been involved with many non profit organizations. He currently serves on the Board of the John George Home, a home for elderly men. Among other activities, he also previously served as Chairman of the Jackson County United Way and President of Family Services and Childrens Aid of Jackson County.
