Chris Sweetland is Google's Head of Network and Financial Institution partnerships at Google, Inc. and spearheading Google's Android Pay market expansion across North America and Asia Pacific. Chris was formerly Vice President of Corporate Initiatives at Visa Inc. until 2014 where he was dedicated to contactless and mobile payment initiatives over a nine year tenure that included roles in San Francisco as well as Singapore.� He assisted in the development of the industry standard for EMV tokenization and has led platform development initiatives to bring consumer payment products to market with major North American and Asia Pacific financial institutions�Prior to Chris' career with Google and before joining Visa inc., Chris led payment initiatives as a consultant with Accenture.� He partnered with payment networks and card issuing clients across the prepaid, healthcare, and the mobile carrier and OEM segments to help bring innovative consumer and B2B payment solutions to market.� Chris attended Colgate University where he received his B.A. in Economics.� Chris now resides in Redwood City, California with his family.
