125 Turn Out For NCUA's AAA

NCUA hosted its first Access Across America Economic Empowerment Summit of the year here, drawing more than 125 people to the one-day event.

Access Across America is aimed at promoting partnership opportunities with federal agencies and facilitate the extension of affordable financial services to individuals, communities and underserved areas. Among those addressing the meeting were NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson, Vice Chairman Rodney Hood, and HUD Deputy Assistant Secretary for Grant Programs Anna Marie Farias.

Panel discussions at the meeting included Member Business Lending, homeownership, Health Savings Accounts, and serving underserved areas

Participating agencies included the Department of Agriculture, Housing and Urban Development, Treasury, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. Also presenting were the Texas Credit Union League, Neighborworks America, Texans Credit Union, El Paso Affordable Housing CUSO, and Covenant Savings Federal Credit Union.
