$447K Raised To Fight Hunger

PORTLAND, Maine-"People Remembering & Helping People" was the theme last week for the Eleventh Anniversary 9/11 tribute by Maine's credit unions to the five Red Cross Chapters of Maine.

Above, representatives of the Red Cross and food pantries representing each region of the state gathered with representatives from the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger, including the Maine league's Jon Paradise (center, with check) at the 9/11 Memorial in Portland. The Campaign, which has raised $4.3 million since 1990, including a record-setting $447,000 in 2011, distributed funds to emergency food relief efforts across Maine.
