Accounting Chief Sentenced To Prison For $1.4 Million Theft

OMAHA, Neb. – A 62-year-old former vice president of accounting at First Nebraska Educators CU was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay more than $786,000 in restitution for embezzling an estimated $1.4 million from the credit union.

Caroline Domanski created fake entries into various ledger accounts and made cash withdrawals from bank accounts and from the union's vault.

Investigators say the theft occurred over a 15-year period starting in 1993.
